Hawzah News Agency- in recent months amidst the Gaza war and the consecutive defeats of the Zionist regime and the United States in this unequal war, some Arab countries affiliated with the Western and American Axis have taken political actions to improve their internal situation, which are facing a crisis and wish to establish political relations with some superpowers such as Russia, China, and Iran. The Bahraini regime is one of the Arab regimes in the Persian Gulf region, which has been seeking to restore relations with Iran in recent months.
In this regard, the international correspondent of Hawzah News has interviewed Hujjat al-Islam "Seyed Abbas Shabar", a political activist in Bahrain.
The text of the interview is as follows:
Hawzah: What is your opinion about the statements of the King of Bahrain in the meeting with President Putin and the President of China regarding the normalization of relations with Iran?
The statements of Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the King of Bahrain regarding cooperation with great powers such as China and Russia and relations with Iran show the attention of the Bahraini regime towards a new coalition in the shadow of geopolitical changes. in my opinion, as an opponent of the Bahraini regime, these actions are an attempt by the Bahraini regime to beautify the image of the regime that is facing internal pressures and economic challenges to address the fundamental issues that the people of Bahrain are suffering from.
The basic and important pillar, especially with the reduction of America's role in the region and the revelation of Israel's weakness, is to calm down the domestic political situation in Bahrain. Therefore, we see that the Bahraini regime, by ignoring the basic rights of its people and without real reforms, seeks to exploit this situation to strengthen its position in the region. These measures to improve relations with Iran may seem useful for achieving stability, but experience shows that the Al-Khalifa regime prefers temporary solutions to fundamental changes.
Hawzah: In your opinion, what steps do you think the Al-Khalifa regime needs to take to establish relations with Iran inside and outside of Bahrain?
We urgently need reforms and create real stability. We need a comprehensive approach that includes real political reforms and social justice instead of relying on unstable foreign coalitions.
Economic and development challenges require radical solutions that must start from within Bahrain. Bahrain needs comprehensive reforms that include:
Fair representation of Shiites in government and public institutions to ensure the participation of all sections of society in decision-making.
Respecting human rights, ending sectarian discrimination, and guaranteeing human rights for all.
Comprehensive National Dialogue: Opening channels of dialogue that include all segments of Bahraini society to discuss important issues and reach a national consensus.
Hawzah: In general, how optimistic are you about the Al-Khalifa regime's actions to restore relations with Iran, and if it is realized, what effect will these relations have on the region?
Achieving internal stability in Bahrain will have a positive impact on the entire region. Bahrain is part of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and any improvement in its internal situation will increase stability in the Persian Gulf. Improving relations with Iran can help reduce regional tensions and strengthen economic and security cooperation between the Persian Gulf countries and Iran.
In the end, I must say that the statements of the King of Bahrain regarding the improvement of relations with Iran can be considered a strategic step that helps calm the internal situation in Bahrain and achieve regional stability. But this step should be part of a comprehensive reform process that includes justice and equality for all Bahraini citizens, trying to improve relations with Iran without real reforms will only be an attempt to beautify the face of the regime without addressing the roots of the problems.
The statements of the king of Bahrain are in the context of reducing the role of the United States in the region and revealing Israel's weaknesses, which prompts Bahrain to reevaluate its regional strategies. But what is most important is the beginning of real internal reforms to achieve lasting and permanent stability.
